A silver version of the'Am I not a Man and a Brother?' logo reproduced on a commemorative token. Token coinage was issued by traders and manufacturers to cope with a shortage of proper coins and often carried political messages as a way of spreading the word. The abolitionist logo was used on penny and halfpenny token coinage in the late 18th century.
